• Floating Light
I was fortunate enough to visit the Abbey de Mont St Michel for
A special 10 pm-1 am show called Les Illuminiers
It was lit and laid out very artistically with modern classical music playing.

 • Sailing The Tectonic Seas

It might take a few million years to get anywhere but you can imagine what this amazing mountain has "seen" in its time...

Mont Aiguille (el. 2085 m./6842 ft.) is a mountain in the massif du Vercors in the French Prealps, located 58 km (36 mi) south of Grenoble. The mountain is most noted for its first ascent in 1492. Charles VIII ordered that the peak be climbed, so one of his servants, Antoine de Ville, made the ascent using a combination of ladders and other artificial aids. This makes it particularly important to climbers and is now climbed many times each year.
SAILING THE TECTONIC SEAS by David Cale

The mountain rears magnificent
like a titanic ship’s prow
it cuts through countless dawns
sun warmed or storm wracked
mute testimony
to the tectonic brooding
of the planet below our feet

I am tempted to feel small

But a mountain is just a mountain
not a comment on me

 • Some Hidden Glory (1am)
Taken deep in the bowels of the Mont Saint Michel Abbey which dates back to before 1000 CE.
The strange thing is that i did not see the light when I was there. It appeared on the film.
Some Hidden Glory by David Cale

There is just beyond our grasp
some hidden glory
radiant with mystery

A joy beyond perception
beckons our souls
brings hope to our lives
even as we struggle to climb
on wounded limbs
with blinded eyes
towards that which we can not know
until our time is full

 • Its In Her Eyes

On a fine day in August I was wandering with my family along the bank of Seine. On the other side of the river towered Notre Dame Cathedral.
What caught my eye though was the artist, of which there are many here, painting this beautiful woman's portrait, unusually starting with her eyes.
